Fujiya Ryokan

The food was fantastic. Dinner as well as breakfast. The staff is very friendly.

The modern Annex was very cool, cafe and gallery on site. Nice private bath.

A little far from main part of town, but the walk made for a quieter neighborhood.

Staff was very friendly and helpfull. They helped us a lot and cared for us like our family would.We felt at home. The Onsen was clean and perfect for relaxing after a long day.We really want to visit again.

The hosts were very helpful and friendly, the atmosphere and setting were really traditional Japanese , it felt like a family hotel.

We would definitely recommend this ryokan as the staff was warm, helpful and considerate, the room was spacious and nicely decorated, the baths were indoor but had large windows with a nice view of a japanese garden, and the food was very very good; the staff could even accomodate the needs of my vegetarian partner. The price was also really convenient. In conclusion, we had a wonderful experience during our stay there.

The employees were super friendly, regardless of not speaking any English, and they always tried to make themselves understood and understand us in return.

Really disappointing. They were not even able to provide us with breakfast, since we had not booked it together with the room and said the Ryokan "was full", but suggested a 7-11 store instead (!). The Ryokan itself is located close to a major road, and does not come along with any natural setting. On top it is pretty old. The employees did not really show any interest in our issues.

This is one of the best hotels I've visited. You can see that the hotel has been standing for a few years. However, the charm beats everything. You can't really rate it in numbers and stars. The people who keep the business going are really incredibly friendly and warm. I have never seen it before. The whole region is really under value. Kyoto and Tokyo are pretty cool, but I think you will have the best time in this region.You have to be prepared that there is no other foreign tourist

The breakfast was a delicious traditional Japanese meal. Some things were not to my taste as a westerner but I could still appreciate the quality of their food and presentation. The room was very clean and the staff was very attentive, i would definitely recommend splurging on the deluxe suite as it has the best view and was the best view i had my entire trip. The staff were very helpful at every turn and were truely all kind people who made my partner and i feel like we were at home. Overall very satisfied as a customer and will definitely make a return her on our next trip to japan.

The room was well decorated and spacious. Staff were nice and willing to help. The hot bath was nice and easy to use. Ensuite shower was good. Nice housekeeping service. Closeness to the Mount Zao area.

Relatively few food options in the town.
